About the Role
The Vice President, Public Policy will be responsible for planning and executing a comprehensive multi-year legislative and regulatory agenda, drafting policy and regulatory language, securing bill sponsors, and testifying before legislative committees. You will oversee grassroots engagement and volunteer development, coordinate events such as State Advocacy Day, monitor legislative activity, manage compliance with lobbying regulations, and handle budget and staffing for policy teams. Collaboration with national offices, cross-functional internal teams, external stakeholders, and regularly reporting to leadership are essential duties. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and bring 10–15 years' experience in state government affairs, legislative staffing, or agency roles—preferably within the state. You should have established relationships with state legislators and executive branch officials, and a deep understanding of state legislative, regulatory, and budgetary processes. Experience working on issues related to Medicaid, long‑term care, aging, and workforce policy is highly preferred. Proven success in advocacy, policy development, volunteer mobilization, and campaign strategy is expected. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and negotiation abilities, high attention to detail, personal initiative, and a valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle access are required.
