Position Title: Procurement Manager

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Work Type: Remote

Assignment Duration: 8 weeks (coverage project; possible extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee sourcing, contract management, and vendor relations while managing a small team of temporary staff. This role is focused on ensuring operational efficiency, timely project delivery, and compliance with procurement standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in client-facing procurement, vendor management, and project oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of goods and services.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and maintain contracts and related documentation.
  • Review and oversee contract terminations, expirations, extensions, and renewals.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage the vendor certification process.
  • Coordinate daily activities of the procurement team, including scheduling and task assignment.
  • Supervise two temporary employees (1 full-time, 1 part-time).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and business partners to execute procurement strategies.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and operational goals are achieved.
  • Analyze spend data, supplier performance, and service delivery to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
  • Support RFP creation, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and accountability.

  • Managing timelines and reviewing project progress.
  • Overseeing product and contract details.
  • Communicating directly with vendors.
  • Ensuring all responsibilities and deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.

The right person will bring strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills to ensure procurement operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Must-Have Skills

  • Experience working in a client-facing procurement or sourcing role.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong vendor communication and relationship management skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience managing or mentoring a team , especially in procurement, sourcing, or project management environments.
  • Contract management and negotiation experience.

Education & Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in procurement, sourcing, or contract management.
  • Certifications (Preferred): C.P.M., C.P.S.M., or N.A.C.M. certifications.

Software Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Familiarity with standard contract and document management systems.
