The Automotive Sales Porter is responsible for the efficient management of the dealership's vehicle inventory and lot operations. This role involves assisting customers, maintaining vehicle appearance, and ensuring a well-organized and clean lot to support the sales team and enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Management:

  • Move vehicles to and from various locations, including the service department, showroom, and lot.
  • Park and organize vehicles on the lot according to dealership standards.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, polished, and well-presented for customer viewing and test drives.

Customer Service:

  • Greet and assist customers as they arrive, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Prepare vehicles for test drives, ensuring they are clean, fueled, and ready for customer use.
  • Answer basic inquiries about vehicle inventory and dealership services.

Lot Maintenance:

  • Regularly inspect and maintain the lot to ensure it is free of hazards and debris.
  • Keep track of vehicle inventory and notify the sales team of any issues or discrepancies.
  • Perform routine checks on vehicle condition and report any maintenance needs to the appropriate department.

Administrative Support:

  • Manage vehicle keys, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork or organizing documentation related to vehicle inventory.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all dealership policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to traffic and safety regulations while moving vehicles on and off the lot.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in an automotive dealership or customer service role is a plus, but not required.

Skills:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift to 40 lbs. as needed; must be comfortable working in various weather conditions.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • May involve weekends or evening shifts based on dealership needs.
