Summary of PhysicalTherapist Assistant position
The PTA is responsible for promoting, facilitating, and maintaining health, well-being, and participation in life.This individual is responsible for all aspects of physical therapy assistant service delivery provided under a physician approved plan of care and accountable for the safety and effectiveness of the physical therapy assistant service delivery process.
Qualifications:
Requirements of Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):
Associate's degree from a CAPTE-accredited program Active state Physical Therapy license in good standing
Current CPR
At least one (1) year experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities at once
Ability to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the position
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance patient performance.
Identify the need for and make referrals to other healthcare disciplines as necessary to address the comprehensive needs of the patient.
Instruct, educate, and train patients and caregivers in skills and functions essential for promoting patient independence, improving quality of life, and diminishing or correcting pathology.
Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, provisional licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements and professional standards.
Develop personalized care plans using a variety of treatment techniques.
Provide quality, personalized, and evidence-based care using proven interventions.
Promote clients’ healthy lifestyles by improving their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
Continuously evaluate patient progress, monitor outcomes, and communicate updates effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
