The Department of History of Art and Visual Culture at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach either during the academic year or Summer Session. We seek applications from outstanding candidates with experience to teach historic or contemporary period (see our list of courses) in the following visual cultures:
The members of the department are committed to the investigation of art and visual culture from a wide range of theoretical perspectives. We seek colleagues with secure knowledge of visual materials and demonstrated interest in examining such materials and related issues within contexts of culture and history. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the inclusive excellence of the academic community through their teaching.
Internal candidates will be given priority consideration.

Curriculum Vitae - Your most recently updated C.V.
Cover Letter - Letter of application that addresses scholarly background, the advertised visual cultures region that you feel you are qualified to teach, and a description of your teaching.

Teaching Statement - Teaching statement appropriate for the students that enroll at UC Santa Cruz. Candidates are urged to review the statement guidelines before preparing their application.
