CNA / Activities Assistant - Part-time
Town of Windsor - Caring Connection

The Town of Windsor is seeking an enthusiastic and positive individual to work as a CNA/Activities Assistant at the Caring Connection Adult Day Health Center for approximately 20 hours weekly. Mondays 9 am to 4:30 pm, Thursdays 8:30 am to 3 pm, and Fridays 9 am to 3:30 pm with some flexibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists clients with ADL's such as toileting, ambulating, and eating
• Facilitates recreation and therapeutic programs such as art, music, chair exercise, word games, discussions, etc...
• Observes and reports any changes or concerns regarding clients to Adult Day Care Professionals to Adult Day Care Professionals and /or the Caring Connection Manager
• Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties such as receiving the public, answering phone, activity calendar planning, assist with meals
• Participates in the maintenance of the physical environment of the program areas

Our Ideal Candidate will:

• Possess the basic knowledge of the physical, mental, and emotional needs of older adults
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills with both clients as well as other staff members
• Ability to be flexible and work well in a team environment

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent, with one year of experience working with older adults
• Connecticut Certification as a Nurse Assistant

Compensation:

• The hourly rate for this position is $18 to $19 per hour - depending on experience

Successful candidates will be subject to the Town of Windsor background screening process, which includes a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen including screening for marijuana.
