Job Description

Type: Full-Time (75 hours biweekly)

7:00a - 7:30pm, 3 shifts per week

OR

7:00pm - 7:30am, 3 shifts per week

both shifts have occasional weekend day

Operates radiographic equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body, under the supervision of the Chief Technologist and/or Radiologist.

• Evaluates imaging requisitions and confirms requisition with doctors order in patient chart.
• Checks patients identify, as outlined by department manual, and instructs patient as to the procedure being performed to obtain their cooperation.
• Demonstrates proficiency in conducting radiological exams by producing radiographs of good technical quality.
• Ability to prioritize and identify those imaging requests, which require immediate response in the absence of the Chief Technologist.
• Produces x-ray films.
• Prepares and maintains records and files.

REQUIRED:

• Formal Radiological Technology training from an accredited school.
• A valid NYS Radiological Technologist license
• Registered through A.R.R.T. with (CT) certification.

PREFERRED:

• Previous experience with PACS, RIS, EMR, CR, OR, ER, DRX, CT and Meditech
