REMOTE WORK FROM HOME AVAILABLE
Authorize, settle, or decline payments of both medical only and indemnity workers compensation claims in compliance with state workers compensation rules, regulations, and statutes.
- ** Plan and conduct investigations of assigned claims to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability, and damages by interviewing insureds, witnesses, and claimants; collecting and evaluating documentation; and securing evidence and protecting chain-of-custody.
- ** Determine and document potential for subrogation, including identifying applicable tortfeasors.
- ** Maintain and adjust reserve adequacy to reflect changes in exposure.
- ** Establish and implement appropriate action plans for case resolution including medical and disability management, vocational rehabilitation management, litigation management, negotiation, and disposition.
- ** Settle claims; approve claim payments; and calculate and pay benefits due within designated authority level.
- ** Work with nurse case managers to monitor recovery and progress, and develop and execute return to work strategies for injured workers.
- ** Review case files to prepare and develop employer position for hearings at Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
