Job Description

Polaris is currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will work closely with other talented engineers to create software solutions that meet the needs of our clients. The role is hybrid, with 60% onsite at our customer site in Columbia Annex, MD.

Anticipated Salary Range: Senior Level; 9-13 years of experience: $184,000 - $196,000. This range is Polaris good faith estimate based on the roles location, responsibilities, and market benchmarks. Final compensation will be determined at the time of offer and may vary depending on education, certifications, experience, skills, and internal considerations.

• Develop Java-based software capabilities with strong working knowledge and experience.
• Demonstrate inquisitiveness, responsiveness, and excellent testing skills.
• Possess strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
• Work in a fast-paced, small business environment with our talented team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI; U.S. Citizenship required. TS/SCI clearance is a plus.
• At least 9 years of experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks (e.g., Spring, Guava), and a relevant Bachelors degree; or 13 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in RESTful web services, Microservices architecture, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle and Linux operating system.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Nexus, Maven).
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with 60% onsite at Columbia Annex, MD, with flexibility for schedule changes.

Preferred Requirements

• Current TS/SCI clearance; CI Poly is a plus.
• Experience with NiFi, Kafka, AWS Infrastructure, K8s, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), distributed databases, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Solr, scripting, Big Data Platform, and Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence, Github).
