POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager of Technical Design is responsible for ensuring the high quality of the ELOQUII brand through fit consistency, high construction standards, and effective vendor communication across all categories. They are a strategic partner, responsible for the management of the technical design team and the successful execution of product from development to production by establishing processes to support this. The role is instrumental in championing the team's overarching vision, propelling business performance objectives forward, all while unwaveringly upholding principles of honesty and brand integrity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and mentor technical designers and patternmakers, offering guidance and support in fittings, pattern corrections, and construction standards.
• Oversee the creation of technical packages for new product development, ensuring precision, accuracy, and adherence to ELOQUII’s quality standards.
• Manage designated categories, overseeing fittings with cross-functional partners to ensure the attainment of product excellence.
• Anticipate and resolve technical, fit and quality issues during fittings. Advise how to resolve fit and/or production issues.
• Cultivate robust relationships with cross-functional teams and vendors to forge strategic partnerships, achieve objectives, and collaboratively tackle challenges.
• Closely monitor deadlines and team workflow to guarantee product development, comment turnaround and approval deadlines are met.
• Meet with vendors in-person or video-chat, facilitating the understanding of our fit standards and construction to achieve better fit samples.
• Onboard new vendors and communicate ELOQUII fit processes, standards, and expectations.
• Lead process improvements in our PLM system, including establishing tech pack templates, creating new operational efficiencies, and providing overseas vendor training.
• Streamline all communication with the fit modeling agency and organize the daily fit schedule based on delivery deadlines, while staying within our budget constraints.
• Analyze returns and power reviews data to implement a corrective action plan as needed and make informed decisions in future development cycles.
• Represent the team in cross-functional meetings, advocating for the team’s needs while prioritizing workload to respect the delivery deadlines.
• Develop expertise in plus-sized fits, trends, and fabrications to foster innovation and operational efficiency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design or a related field, providing a strong foundation for the role.
• 12+ years of experience in technical design and 5+ years of management experience
• Strong computer skills – Excel/Illustrator/PLM
• Demonstrated expertise with patternmaking, fit, grading, garment construction, production, and manufacturing methods across one to two products.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments with cross functional and external partners.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize execution of multiple tasks/projects.
• Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment, navigating ambiguity with ease and delivering results under pressure.
• Comfort working with ambiguity and collaborating with long-distance cross-functional teams, demonstrating an understanding of cultural and time zone differences to foster effective collaboration.
• Professional work ethic and strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships and driving success through collaboration.
