Primary Responsibilities:

Systems Administration

  • Conduct routine system administration tasks including user management, patching, backup/restore, scheduled jobs, and file permissions.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot Linux (Rocky, CentOS, Debian) and Windows Server environments.

  • Apply security updates and configuration changes in accordance with operational policy. VoIP / PBX Systems

Infrastructure & Virtualization Support

  • Maintain virtualization platforms including Nutanix AHV, KVM (via virsh), and VMware.

  • Provision, monitor, and decommission virtual machines based on project and operational needs.

  • Document VM configurations, resource usage, and dependencies.

Storage Administration

  • Support NAS/SAN platforms, including NetApp, for general-purpose storage, backups, and user file shares.

  • Perform basic storage provisioning and capacity planning tasks.

Monitoring & Logging

  • Manage and maintain SolarWinds for infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and performance tracking.

  • Maintain Kiwi Syslog Server configuration and assist in analyzing logs for operational insights or incident response.

  • Participate in refining thresholds, log retention policies, and alert workflows.

Networking & Security

  • Assist with network troubleshooting, including VLANs, routing, NAT, firewall rules, DNS, and DHCP.

  • Support VPN tunnels and internal network segmentation strategies.

  • Implement and maintain security baselines and patch compliance.

Support & Documentation

  • Act as Tier 2 support for tickets and escalated user/system issues.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, including diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and inventory records.

  • Assist with hardware tracking and change management.

Redundancy & Project Support

  • Serve as the operational backup for the senior systems engineer.

  • Participate in infrastructure and system upgrade projects.

  • Be available for after-hours support and planned maintenance windows as needed.

Required Clearance : Must possess an active and in scope TS/SCI With Poly to be considered.

Travel: This position requires intermittent OCONUS travel to a middle east location.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of experience OR Master’s degree and at least 10 years of experience OR additional relevant experience, certifications, and military service combined, may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • 3–5 years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering roles.

  • Proficient in Linux and Windows Server environments.

  • Hands-on experience with virtualization using Nutanix AHV, virsh/KVM, or VMware.

  • Familiarity with enterprise storage, especially NetApp.

  • Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IP routing, and firewalls.

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as SolarWinds and Kiwi Syslog.

  • Scripting ability in Bash or PowerShell.

  • Strong documentation habits and troubleshooting skills.

  • Professional communication and a collaborative mindset.

Pay Range: Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
