This Full-Time position is designed for individuals who are passionate about contributing to the safe and efficient transportation of goods across significant distances. This opportunity is not a remote job, as it requires direct, hands-on involvement in operations that are central to our business model. The position entails mandatory biweekly home time, with routes specifically available from Jacksonville, FL to Minneapolis, MN. This position comes with competitive mileage pay, safety bonuses, and potential for pay increases based on performance assessments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate semi-dedicated step deck heavy haul trucks safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation and freight management.
• Handle loading and unloading operations, using appropriate techniques and tools to secure cargo.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues, and perform preventive maintenance as required.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules effectively, adapting to unforeseen circumstances on the road.
• Document and log work/rest periods along with vehicle status reporting, as per regulations.
• Maintain communication with dispatch and logistics staff to ensure updates on job status.
• Monitor traffic and weather conditions to make real-time decisions that ensure safety and timeliness.
• Resolve discrepancies in documentation and cargo storage, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Stay updated with technological advancements in transportation and logistics specific to heavy haul trucking.

Requirements

• Class A CDL.
• Minimum age of 22 years.
• Must not have had a DUI in the past five years.
• Felony considerations are made on a case-by-case basis.
• Applicants must not have previously failed a drug screening test.
• Required to have at least 12 months of OTR experience, with a minimum of 6 months specific to step deck operations.
• Mandatory on-road job requiring a minimum of 2 weeks out on the job.
• Residence must be within the designated employment range from Jacksonville, FL to Minneapolis, MN for biweekly home time eligibility.
• Ability to handle physical workload associated with heavy haul transport.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
