Position: Pipe Fitter 1st

Job Location: Pascagoula, MS

Hutco Branch: Moss Point, MS

Rate of Pay: Range of $38.00 per hour and $180.00 Per Diem for those who qualify

Description:

Pipefitters are responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fitting utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawing, arrangements and blueprints.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 to 4 years verifiable marine or industrial pipefitting experience
• Must know Ship terminology
• Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
• Must be able to read marine blueprints and work standard and metric specifications
• Ability to layout, fabricate, fit, and install pipe
• Must be able to burn and bevel carbon steel pipe with hand torch
• Testing will consist of written comprehensive exam and hands-on testing to include: from a pipe detail drawing, an applicant must be able to fit up a pipe assembly.
• Must be able to figure a rolling 90, and 45 degree off-set and be able to fit flanges and valves
• Knowledge of setting and erecting units with proficiency in the use of Datum Lines is preferred
• Familiarity with fit-up, alignment tolerances and advanced blueprint reading skills is preferred
• Must pass drug test (HFT) and E-Verify
• Must be able to work all shifts
• Must be able to work in confined spaces, ascend and work at heights, under all weather conditions
