Job Description
Staff Accountant
We are a national emergency response restoration and cleaning contractor with the capability to return a property to its pre-loss condition. Our team restores commercial, multifamily, hospitality, and educational properties from water damage, floods, fire, smoke and natural disasters.
This position is a key member of the accounting team located in our corporate office in Mansfield, TX. This position works closely with our restoration and cleaning staff to support our operations across the country. Candidates with QuickBooks Desktop are strongly preferred as well as experience in the construction or similar industry.
Responsibilities:
Process subcontractors and supplier invoices ensuring they are coded properly across multiple companies and QuickBooks files
Review contract information, contact information and insurance information prior to entering
Entering all credit card charges for the company daily
Reconciling of the credit card accounts
Maintain accurate record of all W-9 information
Enter customer payments in QuickBooks
Work with each department regarding any customer short payments
Bank reconciliations & month end journal entries
Other general AP related accounting duties/projects as assigned
Accounts Receivable Collections
Various special projects that are needed and requested from supervisor
Ensures the confidentiality and security of all financial files
Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Software primarily Outlook, Excel and Word
Must have excellent Excel experience
Excellent written and oral communication with internal and external customers
Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
Possess strong analytical skills and time management skills
Provide a sense of urgency about the work; demonstrate good judgement both within the work group and the company, and have the ability to keep matters confidential
Able to interact within a team environment
Experience:
5-8 years of experience in Accounts Payable & Accounting
Prior construction accounting experience is helpful
