Job Description

Sea Mar Community Health Centers was founded in 1978 with a single clinic in the South Park neighborhood of Seattle. Today, Sea Mar is Washington’s largest provider of community-based, comprehensive health care with over 38 medical clinics along the Puget Sound. We are seeking a mission-driven Sports Medicine physician dedicated to serving underserved and diverse communities. The position will be based at our new multi-specialty clinic in the White Center area of Seattle, in a Sports Medicine & Rehab space designed specifically for this purpose. Job Summary The physician will provide Orthopedic and Sports Medicine services, including diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of musculoskeletal conditions, concussion management, MSK procedures, sports pre-participation evaluations, fracture care, and care of special populations. The physician will also cover boxing events for Sea Mar’s Youth Boxing program, mentor learners in the Sports Medicine department, and have opportunities to lecture for residents and colleagues. If board certified in MSK US, the physician will perform diagnostic scans and US-guided procedures, such as joint and bursal injections, needle tenotomy, sclerotherapy, hydrodissection, and tendon debridement, among others, consistent with evidence-based medicine and approved by the Clinical Director. Off-site work is rare. The role involves no weekend clinics, overnight calls, or hospital calls. The physician will work collaboratively with staff to provide team-based care, prescribe medications within their authority, and participate in preventive health programs and community education initiatives. Responsibilities and Duties Provide comprehensive Sports Medicine services in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance, and licensure. Refer patients to specialists when necessary. Prescribe and dispense medications as authorized. Organize and participate in sporting event coverage, program evaluation, and preventive health activities. Participate in clinical affairs to improve patient care experience. Care for special populations such as nursing home residents, injured workers, and patients with chronic conditions. Qualifications and Skills Licensed MD or DO. Completed an ACGME or AOA-accredited residency; board certification or active pursuit preferred. Completed a Sports Medicine fellowship. Board certification in RMSK-US required for billing diagnostic scans. Current DEA certificate. Uphold vaccine requirements. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
