The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLCs salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLCs total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base salary range: $59,894 $83,852 per year

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Accountable for the quality of the guest experience in terms of facilities, employee/guest interactions, and instructional content.
• Create schedules and provides coaching to supervisors and instructors.
• Relates to and interacts with employees on all levels to ensure exceptional guest service and positive, lasting memories.
• Models and coaches all staff to actively promote Palisades Tahoe products and services to meet guests needs.
• Supports corporate sponsors and ensures the team is fully knowledgeable of product line.
• Supports each instructors growth and success by providing respectful coaching and honest feedback. Administers disciplinary action when necessary. Manages the product financially by using Mountain Sports School budget guidelines for labor, supplies, and workers comp exposure.
• Uses all methods of communication to assure that all levels of the organization are in the know and connected to the company and each other.
• Encourages teamwork across the Mountain Sports School by demonstrating positive, supportive behaviors and attitudes with employees and other departments. Is a conscientious contributor to the Mountain Sports School management team.
• Administers the product and the business through scheduling, organizing, ordering supplies and attending to various clerical duties.
• Takes time and finds opportunities to learn, improve, and connect with the profession. Works with fellow managers and supervisors to assure sustainable personal pacing and an invigorating atmosphere.

Competencies

• Leadership: Manages all employees in an equitable and honest way, ensuring workload is even across department. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and assisting in administrative duties. Coordinates with management team to create and manage seasonal staffing plan. Create schedules for instructors and supervisors, anticipating seasonal business schedules. Implements employee recognition programs. Communicates company incentives to instructors in a positive and effective manner. Collaborates with fellow management to establish an open door atmosphere. Act as Manager on Duty when assigned.
• Integrity & Compliance: Comply with Federal and California Labor law in phases of the employment process as well as all Company policies & procedures.
• Champion of Guest Service: Achieve continuous improvement in operational objectives by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
• Strategic: Proactive development of strategy and policies for the business units and align resources to meet goals. Direct and control the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers. Inspire creativity and innovation.
• Financial: Manages product expenses, including labor and supplies, with an understanding to budget guidelines. Tracks business statistics to attain season targets including class averages, instructor incentives, return percentages and length of stay. Facilitates and ensures accuracy of instructor payroll. Manages workers comp potential exposure, e.g. instructor personal pacing, illness, return to work after injury, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear, and ski/snowboard for 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 25lbs. Must capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED PSIA/AASI Level II Supervisory experience in a resort setting Customer service experience in a resort setting

• PSIA/AASI Level III
