Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and highly mechanical Custom Truck Build Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing hydraulic systems, welding on steel and aluminum, and reading electrical schematics to build and repair custom trucks designed for train track operations. This role requires a strong ability to interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure precise and high-quality custom builds and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Install hydraulic systems on custom-built trucks.
• Perform welding on steel and aluminum components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics to complete wiring tasks.
• Assemble and repair custom-built rear ends and beds for trucks.
• Ensure all custom builds meet the required specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in installing hydraulic systems and welding on steel and aluminum.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a specialty shop is preferred.
• Welding experience or fabricating preferred.
• Experience with mechanical assembly and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Experience with engine repair, diesel engine repair, and mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
• Being a student of the game will be important.

Work Environment

The work environment is akin to a garage-type setting, similar to a local Jiffy Lube or mechanic shop, but with large vehicles like semi-tractors and Ford F-550s. The position operates Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, with occasional opportunities for overtime during peak seasons.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of NA, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
