Job Opportunity: General Counsel, Senior In-House Counsel, Or Corporate Counsel

Beacon Hill Legal's client, an Am Law firm, is seeking an experienced General Counsel, Senior In-House Counsel, or Corporate Counsel who is fluent in Japanese (speaking, reading, and writing). This is a unique opportunity to join a global law firm and contribute across a mix of practice areas, which may include labor and employment, corporate counsel, and litigation. The partner overseeing this role is open to training the right candidate who demonstrates flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to a long-term engagement.

Position Details:

• Location: Remote (must reside and be licensed in a state where the firm has an office: Austin, Boston, Charleston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Worth, Harrisburg, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Newark, Orange County, Palo Alto, Pittsburgh, Portland, Raleigh, RTP, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, DC, or Wilmington).
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing, with potential to convert to a Special Project Lawyer (SPL2) role with the firm
• Hours: Up to 40 hours per week, depending on skill set
• Pay Rate: $90-103 per hour, depending on experience

Qualifications:

• Experience as General Counsel, Senior In-House Counsel, or Corporate Counsel (in-house experience strongly preferred)
• Fluent in Japanese (spoken, reading, and writing)
• Comfortable working directly with partners and clients in a client-facing capacity
• Adaptable and capable of supporting multiple practice groups
• Interested in a long-term, stable opportunity with room for growth
• Japanese writing sample preferred (ALTA scores accepted if unavailable). Candidates should submit Japanese ALTA exam scores if available or be willing to take the exam if not.
