Job Summary:
Our direct client is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst for a 12-month hybrid contract position based in Irvine, CA. The successful candidate will support financial management processes, provide insights to leadership through detailed reporting, and ensure accuracy and compliance across various finance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage multiple budget categories including capital plans, functional/run-the-business (RTB) budgets, business cost centers, and Latest Best Estimates (LBEs) to support leadership decision-making through financial reporting.
Track approved projects and authorized funding, reconcile cost centers, and manage project-related financials using SAP (required) and Microsoft Excel.
Process journal entry (JE) requests, manage purchase orders, and oversee Fixed Capital Deployment (FCD) extension and capitalization requests.
Collaborate with Procurement to ensure accuracy and compliance in Statements of Work (SOWs), and enforce Corporate Financial Management (CFM) policies and controls.
Oversee procurement workflows, reconcile vendor expenditures, and resolve invoice and billing issues with Accounts Payable.
Track capital expenditure approvals, support project close-out procedures and capitalization, and update financial forecasts and LBE data.
Partner with finance teams to support capital planning and RTB budget preparation.
Contribute to continuous process improvement and financial management optimization initiatives, including tool enhancements and pilot program support.
Lead or facilitate monthly and ad hoc financial review meetings, and assist teams in the preparation of Requests for Capital Expenditure (RCEs).
Maintain a comprehensive project portfolio, provide strategic financial insights, and ensure accuracy in forecasts and key financial metrics in collaboration with business and finance teams.
Required Skills and Experience:
~2–3 years of proven experience in financial reporting and analysis.
~ Prior experience in an analytical role supporting IT or business departments.
~ Proficiency with SAP for at least 2–3 years.
~ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
~ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Smartsheet.
~ Experience working with remote teams and vendor partners.
~ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
~ Self-starter with a proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
~ Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
~ Fluency in English is required.
~ Experience with Clarity is a plus.
