Position Summary

The Bilingual Spanish - Family Visitation Center Facilitator provides trauma-informed supervision for court-ordered parent-child visitations and monitored custody exchanges, ensuring a safe, structured, and child-centered environment. This role requires emotional intelligence, ethical boundaries, and a strong commitment to survivor-centered practices. The facilitator maintains accurate documentation, ensures compliance with legal and agency standards, and intervenes when necessary to preserve safety. This position is essential to supporting family healing and prioritizing the best interests of the child in high-conflict or high-risk situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Court-Ordered Visitations and Custody Exchanges: Monitor parent-child interactions to ensure physical and emotional safety in compliance with court mandates.
  • Ensure Safety and De-escalation: Intervene when necessary using trauma-informed conflict resolution and redirect behavior to protect children and maintain calm environments.
  • Conduct Orientations: Facilitate adult and child orientations to prepare families for participation in the program and establish clear expectations.
  • Maintain Accurate Documentation: Complete timely, professional case notes and ensure compliance with legal and organizational policies.
  • Monitor Policy Compliance: Enforce visitation center rules with professionalism and respond appropriately to client violations.
  • Respond to Threats or Escalations: Recognize high-risk dynamics and respond effectively to ensure client and staff safety, documenting all critical incidents.
  • Maintain a Therapeutic Environment: Clean, organize, and disinfect visitation spaces and toys; restock supplies; and prepare environments that promote child well-being.
  • Demonstrate Ethical and Cultural Competency: Engage with clients across diverse backgrounds while upholding professional boundaries and survivor-centered values.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Communicate effectively with internal teams and contribute to agency-wide efforts and trainings.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field preferred
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence or in the criminal justice system may be considered
  • Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
  • Licensure/Certification: Must complete 40-Hour Domestic Violence training and IM+CANS certification post-hire

Requirements:

Scheduled Hours

  • Monday–Thursday: 12:15 PM – 8:15 PM
  • Friday: 10:15 AM – 6:15 PM
  • Saturday: 8:15 AM – 4:15 PM
  • Sunday: 10:15 AM – 6:15 PM

This role requires flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the program and families, including weekends, not limited to holidays.

Work Conditions & Requirements

  • Environment: Work is conducted in professional offices, secure shelters, visitation spaces, and community settings
  • Service Commitment: Maintain approximately 70% direct service (60% for supervisors) and attend at least 70% of scheduled staff meetings
  • Shelter Coverage: Participate in up to two (2) holiday shifts per year in the emergency shelter
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, navigate stairs, and move between facilities. Reasonable accommodations will be provided
  • Travel: Occasional travel for supply pickups, community outreach, and training

Compensation
Hourly Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour , commensurate with experience and aligned with grant-funded pay scale
