IN THIS ENTRY-LEVEL TAX APPRAISER ROLE YOU WILL:

• Support residential property valuation and equalization to ensure compliance with North Dakota laws
• Review and analyze property data, including dimensions, quality, and conditions
• Make informed value judgments and document findings accurately
• Assist with appeals and reassessments using comparable sales and current data
• Provide courteous and helpful information to the public
• Stay current with real estate market trends and sales data for accurate assessments
• Attend ongoing training to maintain appraisal knowledge and licensing requirements

DO YOU BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS TO THIS ENTRY-LEVEL TAX APPRAISER POSITION?

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• A Class 1 Assessor's Certificate issued by the North Dakota State Supervisor of Assessment, to be obtained within 36 months of hiring
• A valid driver's license

Entry-Level Tax Appraisers should have:

• Knowledge of real property assessment principles, building construction, and county and state appraisal regulations.
• Familiarity with property assessment software, the MS Office Suite, and the geography of Cass County
• Skills in blueprint interpretation, research, and mathematical calculations
• Proficiency in operating computers, tablets, and measuring tools.
• The ability to work in varied environments, including homes, construction sites, and offices, with physical demands such as exposure to weather and lifting up to 25 lbs
