Title: Electronics Assembler Business Unit: Medeco Security Locks Location: Salem, VA (on-site) Department: Operations Shift: 1st (7:00a – 3:30p) Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt Reports To: Machining Area Manager Position Summary: Join Team Medeco as an Electronics Assembler! In this role, you will be working with a dedicated team to build high-security locks, contributing to making the world a safer place. Using magnification tools, you will place small components onto circuit boards and ensure each piece meets our high standards for function and workmanship. You will perform your duties in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures. Qualifications:

  • Basic math and computer skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to comply with our attendance policy
Job Duties:
  • Assemble products in an electronics line/one-piece flow environment, ensuring smooth progression down the line.
  • Meet quality standards, deliver on time, and continuously improve productivity to exceed customer expectations.
  • Participate in team meetings to enhance team performance, solve problems, and improve safety and 5S practices.
  • Meet or exceed performance measures based on established standards.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of product centers and support areas.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed

  • Normal, corrective vision range; ability to see pieces/parts on circuit board and other small internal workings of the product. Must be able to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Interpret and understand drawings and blueprints as instructions to perform operations.
  • Focus and use magnification equipment to assemble product.
  • Ability to use or learn to use soldering equipment.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend and reach.
  • Ability to stabilize parts and move proper parts into place on the product.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
