Job Description: We are seeking a diligent and experienced Director of Compliance to join our lending organization. This person will be responsible for ensuring that our company operates in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Maintain a Compliance Program:

• Design, implement, and oversee the organization's Compliance Management System (CMS) to ensure adherence to all applicable lending laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and training programs specific to lending operations and investor relations.
• Regularly review and update the CMS to adapt to regulatory changes and evolving business needs.

Ensure Regulatory Compliance:

• Monitor and interpret new and existing lending regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, Fair Lending regulations, and consumer protection laws.
• Oversee compliance with investor guidelines and regulatory agency standards, ensuring that lending practices align with these requirements.
• Conduct regular compliance testing and audits to assess the effectiveness of the CMS and identify areas for improvement.

Manage Investor Relations Compliance:

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations related to investor communications and disclosures.
• Review and approve investor-facing materials to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Address investor inquiries and concerns related to compliance matters in a timely and professional manner.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities within the lending and investor relations functions.
• Develop and implement strategies and controls to mitigate identified risks and ensure the organization's overall compliance posture.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, risk assessments, and remediation efforts.

Training and Education:

• Develop and deliver effective compliance training programs for employees at all levels, focusing on lending regulations, investor relations compliance, and ethical conduct.
• Ensure employees understand their responsibilities and are equipped to perform their duties in a compliant manner. 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, law, finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance management or a similar role
• Thorough understanding of all relevant laws and regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, TCPA, CFPB, Reg F, Reg Z, OFAC)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• On-site role (no remote or hybrid structure)
• Experience in a lending / banking organization
