The Dental Assistant position is responsible for assisting the dentist(s) and the dental hygienist(s) in providing primary care dental services to patients at the clinic or in the mobile oral health unit as well as for sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments supplies, and for proper infection control of all areas involving patient care. Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or GED certificate required. Successful completion of a board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act. X-Ray, infection control required. A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines. Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
