Construction Project Manager – Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

Location: New Jersey

Job Type: Full-time

A well-established, third-generation construction firm with over 50 years of excellence in water and wastewater infrastructure is expanding due to several major project wins. We're seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead and supervise critical infrastructure projects across South New Jersey.

Key Focus Areas

This role demands hands-on expertise in:

  • Excavation techniques and equipment management
  • Support of Excavation (SOE) , including bracing and shoring systems
  • Sheet piling operations , including driving and extraction
  • Dewatering systems and strategies for groundwater control

Your deep knowledge of these practices is essential for ensuring site safety, structural integrity, and project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise field construction activities and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Lead the site planning, logistics, and coordination of excavation and SOE systems .
  • Oversee sheet pile installation and dewatering system implementation .
  • Monitor project milestones and manage schedule, cost control, and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Clients to maintain smooth execution.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
  • Support and contribute to innovation in procurement, material handling, and delivery methods.
  • Conduct and report on site inspections, RFI management, and quality control measures.

Qualifications

  • Proven supervisory experience in excavation-heavy infrastructure projects , ideally in water/wastewater construction.
  • Deep familiarity with SOE, sheet piling, and dewatering technologies and field methods .
  • Strong leadership, communication, and scheduling skills.
  • Proficiency with construction software tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Excel, Outlook).
  • Solid financial awareness – capable of supporting project cost tracking and reporting.
  • Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel locally within South NJ.
