Location: Miami, FL Position: Building Official Description: Performs technical, supervisory, and administrative work in plans review, inspection, and enforcement to ensure compliance with building codes and standards. Provides technical assistance to field inspectors. Responsibilities: Lead and supervise the Building Division staff. Communicate with municipal and company management. Monitor building codes and trends. Manage division budget, financial oversight, and reporting. Facilitate meetings and coordinate with other departments. Prepare reports and evaluate systems and procedures. Participate in plan reviews and conduct inspections on complex projects. Requirements: Extensive knowledge of building and zoning codes, including Florida Building Code and Miami Dade County Code. Ability to interpret plans and perform onsite inspections. Minimum of a B.S. degree and 5 years supervisory experience. Certified Building Code Administrator and relevant professional licenses. Physical Demands: Ability to communicate effectively and operate office equipment, with sensory skills to perform inspections.
