Job Description

Rhodes, Young, Black & Duncan, CPA is looking for a Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team in Duluth.

Candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting duties to include preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for clients. Some experience in small business bookkeeping, light accounting & simple income tax preparation for individuals a plus.

Qualifications:

The bookkeeper candidate should have a degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience, as well as a knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • 1-3 years’ experience following areas:
  • Full Accounts Receivable
  • Full Accounts Payable
  • Bank, credit card and inter-company reconciliations
  • Conducting month end close covering reconciliations and distributions
  • Data Entry
  • W-9’s, 1099’s, vendor set-up and maintenance
  • Administrative tasks as needed
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online
  • Experience with QuickBooks Client set-up including Chart of Accounts and some clean-up
  • Experience with QuickBooks conversion from desktop to on-line
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office Suite
  • Payroll experience
  • Perform work accurately and in a time efficient manner, with strong attention to detail, organization and follow through
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback, making adjustments as directed
  • Ability to work collaboratively and foster a productive, team-oriented environment with both colleagues and clients
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable with client contact
  • Adhere to internal Firm deadlines (time entry)
  • Able to contribute ideas and add value to team

You will need to have:

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online – QB ProAdvisor preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Word & Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Willingness to learn/tackle any aspect of accounting when needed
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic team player
  • Respectful of confidential/sensitive information
